Hi, I’m Alex, an artist and brand strategist.

I’ve been working in branding for almost 20 years. I’m the daughter of an anthropologist-educator and a passive solar architect – meaning that I was bound to do work at the intersection of communication, culture and sustainable design. I’m a hippy kid with roots in the bohemian San Francisco Bay Area. I grew up between an organic apricot ranch in the Winters foothills and a passive solar neighborhood in Davis, California. I now live in New York City, where I received my art education at NYU (BA) and SVA (MFA). I’m a working artist and my projects have been exhibited internationally.

Soon after graduating from NYU, I found that my skills as a conceptual artist translated easily into the world of brand strategy – which is about employing the alchemy of images and messages to get attention and inspire action. I’ve had the privilege of spending my career helping people communicate, fundraise and take new products and services to market to transform systems to be responsive and responsible to people, planet and all living beings. My mentor in this work is Marianna Leuschel, founder of L Studio and New Agency in Sausalito, California. In recent years, Marianna has dedicated her practice to ocean awareness and stewardship as the founder of Above/Below.

While many branding processes take months, I create brands, strategy and collateral in a matter of days. This concentrated process requires deep attention to my clients and allows me to focus exclusively on their project while we work together. I believe that everyone benefits from accessing the momentum of creative flow and I continue to be amazed by what we can create when we generate clarity and focus our attention on your most important goals.
